The Getzner Group
As KNEITZ is a valuable subsidiary of Getzner Textil AG, our customers benefit from a close partnership between powerful textile companies.
The Getzner Textil AG group employs approximately 1,600 people and has a total turnover of around EUR 490 million, making it one of the leading textile suppliers in the central European region. The companies in the group design, produce and finish clothing damasks and fashion fabrics as well as, increasingly, technical textiles. Every year, almost 77 million running metres of fabric are produced on approximately 700 weaving machines. The fabrics are exported to more than 60 countries. The group of companies, which was founded in 1818, encompasses KNEITZ as well as other fashion and technology textile sector businesses.
Bludenz in Vorarlberg, Austria, is not only the location of the Getzner Textil AG head office but also home to the production site that focuses on its historic core business. Clothing damasks for the African market as well as yarn and piece dyed fashion fabrics that are primarily used for the manufacture of fashion shirts and corporate fashion and also technical fabrics are all produced here. The company also operates a weaving mill for damask fabrics in Gera, Germany. All trading activities in the damask area are handled by the subsidiary Getzner Textil Handel GmbH, which is based in Lustenau and expertly represents Getzner in 30 countries.
Like the Getzner Group, TFE is also based in Bludenz. As a supplier of fabrics for theatre scrubs, functional sports clothing, protective workwear and base materials suitable for coating, the medium-sized company has its own warp knitting machines as well as weaving machines for the manufacture of light to heavy fabrics, calenders and equipment for customer-specific end packaging. Again, the company particularly values environmental protection and quality management.
A further Getzner Group weaving mill is located in Russikon, in the Canton of Zurich in Switzerland. The Russikon weaving mill focuses almost exclusively on the production of jacquards for Getzner Textil AG's African damasks. A workforce of around 70 produces approximately 3.4 million running metres of fabric every year. This company has already been in the textile manufacturing business since 1890 and has been a Getzner Textil AG majority-owned venture since 1996.
